There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Proverbs.
There are two paths to choose from in this life; one is called the narrow way which leads to life, and few there be that find it. The other is the broad way which leads to destruction, and many are those to be found traveling upon it. When the word says that only a few will find the narrow way, then it stands to reason that we should peer much closer at what the Lord Jesus is teaching. Or should we ignore his words and rewrite and interpret them according to our personal satisfaction? I prefer the former for Jesus speaks only the truth whereas man…
For Christians, they tend to see those on the broad road to destruction as those who are not ”born again”, but the truth is that it applies to both the believer and non-believer. The non believer because they are still living in sin and rebellion, and the believer because they will not do as commanded.
When Jesus answered the rich young man about keeping the commandments, the young man answered that he always had. But then when told to sell all that he had, give to the poor and follow him, the young man went away sorrowful for he was rich. The points to be noted here are, keeping the commandments, love of wealth, and the third was to follow Jesus. But he turned away and left.
Then there are the two servants whose father told them to go labor in the fields. The one said that he would go, but didn’t. The other said he wouldn’t go but did. Which of those men do you think took the narrow road? And then what of the ill-dressed guest at the wedding feast? And who might that be? The ones invited to the feast knew what kind of clothing was required, but this one man chose to come in dirty rags. Of course, he was cast out into the outer darkness. The same applies to Christians who disregard the Lord and his words choosing instead another way, theirs. And the result will be the same. This is just a very brief message to you and perhaps cause you to consider the path which you find yourselves traveling upon.
There are only two choices that will render a sentence of either eternal life or eternity in the Lake of Fire, the narrow path or the broad road, and Jesus Christ is the only one in this entire universe that can save you, if you believe and do as he commands.
I remain a brother in the Lord Jesus.
