The governor has just made an official statement declaring that all laws of the state are no longer in effect, and that the citizen may now decide for themselves which ones they care to apply and which ones they may choose to ignore. It is up to each individual’s discretion. Can you imagine the utter chaos that would ensue? In the same exact manner, Christians have declared the Law of God to be null and void, and they may choose and discard at will according to personal preference. Imagine the chaos, no, not imagine, but much rather look about at the spiritual chaos and vast amounts of false teachings being promulgated as each believer does what is right in their own eyes. Astounding to see how Christians have made themselves judges of the Law of God! And this is all based upon the misinterpretation of one apostle who wrote a letter to the church at Rome. And from this one letter, many believers have pursued the error to their shame and eventual demise. Paul was a servant to the Lord Jesus and not a judge of the Law, but believers everywhere have declared themselves to do as Paul would have never dared to assume, proclaim, and teach, which is the abolishing of the perfect law of God. By the way, sin means breaking the Law of God for those who don’t understand the definition or choose to ignore the deadly consequences of doing so at their own peril.
For the soul that sins shall die, as the Scriptures boldly declare, and then Paul also boldly asserts that keeping the commandments is everything as does another apostle named John, just to name two and there are far more witnesses to call upon. But the lawless ones will write thousands of books as to why they don’t need to keep the Law, but I know of only one that says we do, and that is the Bible. I have a choice and I choose the Word of God over the word of man because as the Scriptures teach, Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word which proceeds from the mouth of God. And you have that very same freedom to choose either the lies of men or the truths of God. Choose wisely as to whom you will follow. Seeing as all would want to misquote Paul, I will come from another direction to perhaps offer the reader a different perspective in the hope of having some of you to understand the Word more perfectly.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. - book of Revelation.
The commandments are and have always meant the Law of God.
And behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. - book of Matthew.
Master, which is the great commandment in the Law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. - book of Matthew.
These words are self-evident to the believing heart that refuses to deny the obvious truth, but to those who prefer to create their own version of Eden, I shall continue to bring forth more witnesses.
And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. - Second Epistle of John.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. - First Epistle of John.
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? - book of Luke.
This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the comandments of men. - book of Mark.
Think on the movement to bring the Ten Commandments back into the public light. it sounds very good, but there is a catch. They are only to be seen as guideposts, and not actual commandments to obey! Hypocrisy at its finest.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till ALL BE FULFILLED. Whosoever therefore shall break one of the least of these commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. - book of Matthew.
Jesus came and did his part, but all is not yet fulfilled.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. - book of Revelation.
God will, at that point create a new heaven and a new earth, not before, and this fact alone scatters the foolishness of those declaring the law to have been abolished. Believe what the Scriptures tell you and not rebellious words from unbelieving hearts. Let God be true and every man a liar.
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. - First Epistle of Peter.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. - Epistle of James.
Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God. - book of 1 Corinthians.
And that last quote comes from Paul himself as he admonishes the faithful to keep the Law of God, the commandments that bring life. And today’s unfaithful pastors teach lies as they lead the flocks to practice lawlessness. You don’t think that the day of judgment will be coming to them, do you? But, of course they will be judged and thrown out into the outer darkness because they taught and practiced iniquity. And unless you prefer to join them, you need to trust in the Lord and do as he commands. In Paul’s letter to the Romans, he is showing how grace and mercy magnifies the law to bring out its glory and perfection in Jesus Christ, something which many refuse to believe or simply cannot comprehend. And instead of believing the complete scriptures, they wrest apart and trample upon the little that they do understand and muddy the waters in the process.
For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; For not the hearers of the law are justified before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. - book of Romans.
And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. - book of Luke.
And from the book of Psalms, there is 119, which extols the virtues of the law, which every man and woman who denies the law should bow their heads in shame and repentance. What more do you need to open the eyes so that knowledge enlightens you with the truth? How can you yet still deny the obvious truth that the law is still in full effect up to this present hour, and will be until the new heaven and earth are created? What darkness has blinded and crippled your understanding?
But it is of greater honor to receive the praises of men than the praises of God so that the works of the flesh may be seen of all men. However, it is better to be a fool in the eyes of men than to be a fool in the eyes of God. As in all things, you have a choice, you can believe what the Word tells you or mans’ interpretations. As for me, I have made my choice to believe God and to obey his word, regardless of popular opinion and the approval of men whoever they may be.
I remain a brother to the faithful in Christ Jesus.
