The Bible is God’s written word to mankind, and Jesus is the Living Word. According to the scriptures, these two are valid witnesses, and yet, most of the children who call God their Father and His Son, Lord, refuse to obey their directives, commands, and laws. Oh, what a gross injustice as they flagrantly oppose the righteousness and holiness of God in their stiff-necked and rebellious ways. They are constantly learning but unable to come to the truth because they have rejected it. Instead, they have fallen back on their understanding, their personal views and opinions, and those of their teachers. They have sought out another way to climb into the sheepfold, but that way leads to death. The old hymn calling us out to trust and obey falls today on deaf ears and hardened hearts of those who desire the ways of the world while claiming citizenship in the kingdom of God as they reinterpret the words of the Lord to create for themselves a personal idol called Jesus. Rejecting wholesale the law of a Holy God, desiring the spiritual birthright while scorning the Manna given as the bread of life by which every word must be lived by. And to this day, they refuse to listen and believe.
Scripture quoting is child’s play with a Biblical concordance and Bible dictionary, and some believe that the urge to learn ancient languages gives them an air of superiority and deeper insight into the word. However, overlooking the fact that the word has been given in every tongue to every man to understand, there is absolutely no need to study ancient languages. Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, faith in God is a necessity, and obedience to his commands is an absolute. And when one believes that He is, then prayer and continual study of His word will bring to fruition the works of Christ begun in the sinner to make them living saints and witnesses to a corrupt and perverse generation.
There is no need to seek out hidden messages and so-called “gospels” hidden from the sight of men since they were seen fit to be tossed into ancient garbage pits as unworthy by God, but today exalted and sought out by men and women not content with what God has provided, but needing to add more. More confusion, more doubts, more heresies, and more tares to sow among the wheat. Even as Moses was on the mount recieving the commands of God, the people in the valley below were wallowing in decadence and openly defying God by practicing fornications and demon worship, and it is the same today within the so-called “body of Christ”. Spiritual whoredoms, open defiance to his commands, bowing down to false spirits masquerading as the Holy Spirit of God, meaning the worship of demons. And I say this because the Holy Spirit of God will never lead a person into rebellion against a Holy God by practicing lawlessness!
The apostle John is very often held up as the apostle of love, but astonishingly the very ones who quote his words deny them by refusing to heed his instructions!
And hereby, we do know that we know him if we keep his commandments. He that saith, “I know him,” and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. First epistle of John.
There are many such things written to admonish believers everywhere to hold firm to sound doctrine and teachings as given in the written and living word, but there are multitudes of false teachers and hirelings, also known as false shepherds or pastors who will teach the people lies and lead them into open rebellion. And the word makes it very clear that those who practice lawlessness and teach others to do the same will not be allowed entrance into the City of God, and neither will any place be found for them in his kingdom. Sadly, these warnings have fallen upon deaf ears and the broad way is filled with those lusting after their own desires just as the Israelites did with meat. And even as they were gorging themselves, the wrath of God struck certain ones down without mercy because of their wickedness. And the same is coming upon this wicked generation who are behaving in so an arrogant and despising way towards the tender mercies of God and His Christ by trampling underfoot the holy blood and despising His commandments.
This very short article is intended to stir you up into remembrance and repentance and to awaken the slumbering spirit within you. Turn aside from your rebellious ways and false teachers and personal opinions. Take up the word, both written and living and believe and do what it says, despising the false teachers and their open lies and lawless teachings. Don’t delay for why should you risk all on a gamble provided by men when the word will give you solid ground?
Trust and obey, and don’t be counted among those who refused instruction and chose not to listen and believe the Lord's precise words.
